The Lives YOU Saved in 2024!
Today is the day to meet our Giving Tuesday goal to help with our whopping $85,000 emergency and specialty veterinary costs for 2024. We have a $25,000 budget for these costs, but this year has been dramatically challenging with increased costs, fewer donations and many more animals arriving at our doors needing extensive medical care. Click below to learn more about the lives YOU helped save in 2024!
Your donation helps us continue our work in ensuring animals needing urgent veterinary care, get it. Thank you for all of your support in 2024 in our mission of helping, healing, adopting. Happy New Year and all of the best to you and your family in 2025!

If you need to rehome or surrender an animal, DO NOT abandon them at the Ulster County SPCA . We are happy to work with you and your situation to take the animal into our care. Abandoning an animal is against the law, and anyone who does so will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
To rehome an animal, please call us at (845) 331-5377 and choose Reception at extention 1. Please note that as of Dec 2023, we do have waiting lists for taking in animals, due to being at capacity in the shelter. We will work with you to make arrangements to take in the animal as soon as possible, and may even be able to offer foster-to-surrender. We give priority to animals adopted from the Ulster County SPCA and to residents of Ulster County, NY.
FOSTERS NEEDED
The Ulster County SPCA is at FULL CAPACITY and we’re looking for members of the community to become temporary fosters of dogs, cats, and small animals.
Our fosters provide temporary housing for a single dog or cat in their home, making it possible for us to continue to take in animals surrendered into our care, emergency boarding cases, lost pets trying to get back home, and stray animals. We do not euthanize due to lack of space – and we need your help to continue giving animals safe shelter!
Fosters are provided with food and supplies to care for the animal in their home, and help with adoptions by transporting the animals to their adoption appointments at the Ulster County SPCA. We cover any veterinary needs, and there is no financial cost to the foster.
Becoming a foster is easy! Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@ucspca.org!
HOW TO DONATE
Because we receive no government funding, nor any from the ASPCA, we rely solely on the generous contributions from our community. Our shelter simply would not exist without your support, and we would not be able to help so many animals in need. Donate today by clicking below to our Donation Portal. If you would like to make an in-kind donation of goods, go to our wish list under the “Get Involved” section of our website. Thank you for your generosity!
Cash donations are needed more than any other type of donation right now. Donations can be mailed to 20 Wiedy Rd, Kingston NY 12401, called in to 845-331-5377, or given by clicking the donate button. All donations go towards caring for the animals in our shelter and providing basic pet supplies and care for members of our community. If you would like to donate in-kind items to the Ulster County SPCA, please leave them outside our shelter in the donation bins at the end of the sidewalk.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER
Our Artist of the Month for November is Alyson Dudek. Alyson is a teaching assistant at J. Watson Bailey Middle School where she has worked for ten years. As a photographer, she is constantly seeking new adventures and experiences to capture through her lens. She hopes to bring out the beauty in the world around us and to create an image that will evoke emotion and inspire people to explore the great outdoors. Alyson has been fortunate to take some of her favorite photographs in the most unexpected places. A small flower on the side of the road, a bee collecting pollen or, most recently, a howler monkey in Guatemala.
Visit us during our open hours, Tuesday-Sunday 11:30-3:30 to view in person throughout the month of October! 25% of all proceeds go directly to the Ulster County SPCA!
SPONSORSHIP
We are thrilled to announce that Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union is our first $5,000 Patron Sponsor for 2024!
For nearly a decade, the Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union has been a major contributor and supporter of the work of the Ulster County SPCA. Whether sponsoring events, peer-to-peer fundraising, or sending volunteers to the shelter, they have maintained a tremendous dedication to our animals and the community. We are so very grateful for their continued generosity and support!
The Patron sponsorship directly provides care for our animals through sponsorship of our two large events – the 25th annual Fur Ball gala and our 11th annual Putt Fore Paws golfing tournament. These fun-raisers are crucial for us to support our mission of helping, healing and adopting animals in Ulster County and beyond.
Did you know the Ulster County SPCA is 95% funded by community members, businesses and civic organizations, and is not a part of either the ASPCA or the Ulster County government? It is this direct local support that keeps our doors open daily, fighting animal abuse and neglect, providing low-cost veterinary care, ensuring safe haven for homeless animals and offering solutions to keep pets in their homes.
Our mission and work is possible thanks to our Patron Sponsor and the support of local businesses like Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. Thank you for working hand-in-paw with us to care for the abused, neglected and homeless animals of Ulster County!
We are thrilled to announce that Lucas Pet Supply is now a Pet Pantry Partner with us!
