Our November artist of the month is Wendi Piper
Our Artist of the Month for November is long-time UCSPCA volunteer, Wendi Piper. 25% of all proceeds go directly to the Ulster County SPCA this month!
“My name is Wendi Piper. I am an artist based in Saugerties, NY, and have been a volunteer at UCSPCA for over 10 years. I primarily work with acrylics and soft pastels to create both traditional and experimental pieces on paper, wood and even furniture. I love to explore different mediums and subject matters, allowing myself to constantly grow and evolve as an artist. I have a master’s in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz, but have worked the last 2 decades as an applications developer. My art keeps me sane and helps me process life. I hope to capture the beauty and complexity of the world around us and evoke emotions from the viewer. Whether it’s a bold experimental piece, a giant sunflower or a soft pastel landscape, each piece is a reflection of my journey and experiences. Thank you for taking the time to view my work and I hope it resonates with you on a personal level. Check out more of my work and that of my twin sister at Twingenuity on Facebook and at a consignment storefront called Decades on 32 Broadway, Kingston, NY.”

The project is an effort to merge the animal community with the growing art community in the Hudson Valley and has been very successful since its inception. The UCSPCA works closely with local artists, allowing them to display their work in the shelter for one month. Each month the featured artist displays their work at the shelter and proceeds from the sale of their work comes back to the animals.
