Our January artist of the month is Erin Murphy
Our artist for the month is Erin Murphy. She makes her home in Kingston, NY with her rescue critters- dog Artemis, cat Betty White, lizard Lucille, snake Moe, and horse Portia.
Erin is a Lead Trainer for a national health insurance provider where she has facilitated and developed curriculum for 9 years.
She is a self- taught, lifelong artist and avid animal lover. Erin works in mixed media- specializing in drawing and painting, primarily with colored pencil and watercolor.
She takes her inspiration from the beauty of the natural world.
Animals and nature are themes in her work. She enjoys experimenting with different media and techniques to capture the beauty and individuality of the flora and fauna around us.
We hope you enjoy her work. For even more of Erin’s art, check her out on a Instagram @honeybunnyfancyprancy.

The project is an effort to merge the animal community with the growing art community in the Hudson Valley and has been very successful since its inception. The UCSPCA works closely with local artists, allowing them to display their work in the shelter for one month. Each month the featured artist displays their work at the shelter and proceeds from the sale of their work comes back to the animals.
